I have always enjoyed writing. I used to write the occasional story when I was younger and even ended up writing a full magazine for an online racing league I used to be a part of. Eventually though, the league dissolved, people went their separate ways and I never really kept up with my creative writing.

As time went on and money became slightly more abundant, I was able to attend more and more motorsports events around the country. I had always loved motorsport, especially Formula One, and had been watching cars and drivers pounding around race tracks for as long as I can remember. Now I was attending some of these events and experiencing the atmosphere for myself… and it was addictive! I was able to get my hands on a bargain of a digital SLR camera and started taking copious pictures at race meetings (including the obligatory, slightly angled, “action shot”), which I’ve been told don’t look too bad.

Now is probably the right time to mention my girlfriend. She’s great. Not only have I been able to turn her from thinking F1 is just “cars going round in circles all the time” to being able to understand the workings of an exhaust-blown diffuser in 2½ years (possibly some kind of record!), but she is also one of the most supportive, caring and funny people I have ever met. Why am I telling you this? Well, she has her own blog here, which I had always enjoyed reading. After one of our trips to see some motoring-related activities, she suggested I should write a few words about the experience and put a few snazzy pictures on it. Initially, I was a bit skeptical. After all, no-one would be interested in reading what I had to say! Eventually, I took the plunge and started writing a few pieces and a blog was born!

So, in summary (and if you’ve got this far!), I hope you enjoy reading this blog… even if it is just the ramblings of a motorsport fan!
